History

The Paddle for Autism Awareness was started in the summer of 2005. Renee Beus, an ACA Kayak instructor and Molly Ola Pinney, Founder of the Global Autism Project drove over 7,000 miles in a 1989 Volvo Sedan to kayak with children with autism and spread the word about the Global Autism Project from coast to coast. The very first event took place in Molly (and Country Director, Nic Fox's) hometown of Dublin, NH and ended in Portland, OR. The route included: Dublin, NH, Chicago, San Diego, Denver, and Portland, OR.
