Today was our final day working in Aprendo. It was beautiful to see it all come together. The therapists have been so receptive to our feedback and dramatic improvements can already be seen. They have been so eager for more and more knowledge of the field, and it has sparked my passion for what I do even more! I am very excited to bring back some of their enthusiasm to my own center!
When I began this trip I did not know what to expect. I was worried about my ability to clearly communicate to the staff because of my lack of Spanish. However it actually did quite the opposite. I came in knowing little Spanish and as I helped train the therapists in ABA, they helped me improve my Spanish. This gave us a common ground to learn from one another. I feel it also helped reiterate the fact that we all have strengths and areas of improvement, but coming together to work and learn with one another is the only way we can truly reach our highest potential as clinicians and people.
I am so incredibly thankful to have had this opportunity. My life has been forever changed by my team members, leaders, and the staff at Aprendo. I hope I was able to make a positive impact on the lives of the therapists and the children Aprendo serves. Thank you!!
