“How others see you, is not important. How you see yourself is everything.”
During plus/delta, one of the Hi5 staff gave herself a 2 regarding her performance for the day. Even after understanding her reasoning, I was shocked at her personal criticism, she’s absolutely AMAZING. We can be our worse critics. In this field we are constantly being given and give feedback to therapists, parents, coworkers, etc., but we need to remember to always view ourselves as strong, beautiful individuals who have so much to offer the world.
Dr. Seuss said “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You”. This quote summarizes each person on this SkillCorps team and at Hi5. We are able to work together, give suggestions, feed off each other, bounce ideas and collaborate as if we have all known each other for years. I believe this is because we know and are learning our personal strengths as well as each others. At some point in our lives, we struggle with knowing who we are, finding ourselves, and accepting ourselves. In one way or another, SkillCorps helps you find yourself. Today, we constantly reminded the girls at Hi5 to be confident in what they know! Its a reminder that we need to give ourselves everyday. “You’ve got this… no one is youer than you and thats your strength”.
