I’m truly grateful to be a part of this amazing team! It has been a lot of work but very rewarding work! So much input, brainpower, ideas, thoughts, problem solving and girl power! 😉 I have learned so much about different approaches to ABA and the true meaning of teamwork. Together our team created our own mission statement for this trip and are adamantly sticking to it. That’s a pretty powerful thing in and of itself. The support, both personally and professionally, of the team leaders and other team members is unsurpassed. Imagine working all day together toward the same goal and purpose and then being able to debrief at the end of each day. We discuss our work, our progress, our goals and our pluses and deltas – a process in which you rate your day. After which you list your “+’s”, all the awesome things that happened; the things that made your heart smile. Finally, you list your delta’s (if you have any). These are the things that were not so great or did not go as planned. These are things that you will change for the following days.  The things that most people would just let ruin their whole day instead, myself included…until now.  It’s like having group psychotherapy (and a little ABA if needed!) every day with some of the world’s best therapists! Everyone everywhere should be doing this as part of their daily lives!fullsizerender

It’s important to note that we, the “SkillCorps Team” are not here because we know more or everything about ABA but rather to join other amazing professionals, the Hi5 Team, to collaborate on the implementation and practices of our profession and help each other grow personally and professionally. SkillCorps and Hi5…we are ONE team! When we grow personally and professionally so will our kids!!
